Attorney Fred Kray, cohost Kris "Brown Sugar" Diaz, and the rest of the PBLNR crew welcome Kelly Schutt Cotrell, Supervisor of Behavior and Training at the Louisiana SPCA, to discuss her blog article, "Can Animal Advocacy Be Divorced From Animal Behavior?." Drayton Michaels joins the conversation as well—you can read his take on the topic, which inspired Ms. Cotrell, here.

On the BDL front, Ledy VanKavage brings us the behind-the-scenes stories on passage of a bill to ban BDL statewide in South Dakota and getting a statewide ban on BDL to the governor's desk in Utah. The key to success in both states was emphasis on the property rights of responsible dog owners. We also get an update on the effort to repeal the Aurora, CO, ban from Jennifer Bryant of ColoRADogs.

Finally, Yvette Van Veen offers tips for managing dogs that are excitable in public.
