Attorney Fred Kray, cohost Kris Diaz, and the rest of the PBLNR crew welcome Michelle Crisp to discuss BDL in Sherwood, Arkansas, and the efforts of Free the Breed Sherwood to get the anti-pitbull law, Ordinance 1776, repealed. As in so many other instances, it seems like there was no particular event that precipitated passing, and later updating, the ban. The ban has been in place for 28 years and has spread as the city of Sherwood as incorporated smaller towns around it. The ordinance features inconsistent definitions of "pit bull" and no processes for challenging the designation of a dog as a "pit bull" other than getting two affirmative statements from veterinarians that the dog has no pit bull blood. In news we discuss the passing of Vicktory dog Hector, harassment of a family who lost a child in a dog attack, and the run-up to the vote on the Aurora, CO, breed ban.

In training, Yvette Van Veen highlights the importance of where one rewards a dog. Are you encouraging your dog to pop up out of a "down" for a treat or teaching him to linger by the cat food bowl when you work on "leave it"?
