Attorney Fred Kray, cohost Kris Diaz, and the rest of the PBLNR crew welcome Kathy Pobloskie, Director of Wisconsin Voters for Companion Animals ("WVCA"), to discuss the state of companion animals in Wisconsin. WVCA has been working hard on repealing/preventing breed-disciminatory legislation, improving the regulation of commercial breeding operations, and finding relief for court case dogs—dogs held in cruelty and dog fighting cases for years then usually euthanized. Ms. Pobloskie covers how WVCA reaches out to legislators and the many successes they've had combatting BDL in Wisconsin. She also addresses dealing with particularly unreasonable pro-BDL advocates and the harassment many WVCA members have experienced. In our dog training segment, Yvette Van Veen attacks that most embarrassing of problems—jumping on people. She discusses why dogs find jumping on people rewarding, why you don't want to knee them or push them away, and the importance of giving the dog something else to do.
