Ken Foster talks about what led him to write I'm A Good Dog, and the difficulty he had getting it published. He relates how he researched the stories of Dr. Suess, James Thurber and Helen Keller. He visited the Animal Farm Foundation and looked through many old black and white photos, which are contained in the book. Particularly touching, is the picture of Petey from "Our Gang" who is seen delivering mail to an orphanage. With intelligence and a sense of humor, Ken talks about the people he met while writing the book, and why he likes pit bulls.
